The much awaited iPhone 6 release date will be held tomorrow, September 10, with millions of people worldwide tuning to the keynote.

Apple's press event will take place in the head office of the company in Cupertino, California addressed by Apple's chief executive Tim Cook.

Consumers waiting for the next generation of iPhone can watch the keynote event on their Safari-enabled Apple devices and through Apple TV. Apple has done this when they broadcasted the WorldWide Developers' Conference last June.

"Apple® will broadcast its WWDC 2013 keynote address using Apple's industry-leading HTTP Live Streaming, which is based on open standards. Viewing requires Safari® on iOS 4.2 or later on any iPhone®, iPad®, iPad mini or iPod touch®; Safari 4 or later on Mac® OS X® v10.6 or later. Streaming via Apple TV® requires second or third generation Apple TV with software 5.0.2 or later. The live webcast will begin at 10:00 a.m. PDT on Monday, June 10, 2013 at www.apple.com," said in the WWDC press release.

However, it is still unconfirmed whether Apple will repeat this strategy. Meanwhile, tech Web sites like CNET, Engadget, Gizmodo and Mashable will have a live stream and live blog of the said event.

Consumer may expect two iPhones to be launched at the press event - the full-fledged iPhone 6 and the low cost iPhone 5S or 5C.

The iPhone 6 is rumoured to feature a fingerprint sensor at the home button for added security, a 12 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, and new quad core A7 processor. The handset is expected to come in a gold or champagne color variant. Prices for the three memory versions are expected to be the same - $199, $299, $399.

The cheaper iPhone 5S/5C will pack medium-range specs similar to that of the iPhone 5, have plastic casing, and may come in a myriad of new hues. It is expected that iPhone 5S/5C would cost around $99.
