Apple's iPhone 6 continues to draw attention as more details about the upcoming series come up. Considering Apple's move with the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 5 series, there have been talks about the iPhone 6s also coming up. According to recent talks, the specs of the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 phablet may be in the running for a follow up or another version as the iPhone 6s phablet. Several clarifications also surfaced about the device's NFC technology, thinner display and mock up designs.

A recent discussion on iMore's forum brought out the issue about the previous "S" versions of the iPhone. Apple usually includes a faster processor and different hardware to differentiate the S variant from the original flagship. However, with the introduction of new screen sizes under iPhone along with the A8 chip, there is now the question whether Apple will still gun for an "S" version. Likewise, according to user Ledsteplin on iMore, considering the 128GB variant offering a 5.5-inch screen with $100 premium, will it be better for consumers to wait for the S model? It may be too early to say if Apple will release an S version but judging from its history, it is possible.

According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, Apple may well be ready to include the Near Field Communication or NFC technology in its iPhone 6 series. The report suggests that the NXP Semiconductors will be supplying the technology. However, the report did not divulge more details about the technology or about the relationship between Apple and the Dutch chipmaker. According to the Wall Street Journal: "The first rule about a design win from Apple: Don't talk about the design win."

G for Games also reported that supply chain sources in Asia said that Apple adjusted the brightness enhancement files or BEFs in the iPhone 6. Apple stuck to one to allow for a thinner device. More importantly, analysts believe that Apple may have found a way to produce better BEF film. Reducing the film to one requires higher quality to compensate for missing layer.

Nikkei sources claimed that previous mockups for the iPhone 6 do not reflect the final design of the product. The sources claim that there will be no antenna breaks. The curved display and the aluminum build should also appear like one material with the curved display adjoining the build seamlessly.
