iPhone 6 features will include A8 processors and Samsung will help in making the chips.

According to reports, TSMC will handle the larger number of production of the processors. However, Samsung will lend a hand in producing the chips. Apple tried to lessen its dependence on the South Korean company in the past. But it seemed that Apple needs to rely on Samsung until now.

According to a new report from DigiTimes, Apple will also split the production of its A9 chips between TSMC and Samsung. Samsung has signed a contract to produce 30 to 40% of Apple's 14-nm A9 chip for 2015 with TSMC handling the bigger bulk again.

Samsung has played a vital role in the production of A7 chip found inside the iPhone 5S. The chip is produced at a smaller 28-nm node compared to the 32-nm A6. Meanwhile, the A8 chip rumoured to be packed in the iPhone 6 will be using the 14-nanometer process node.

Other iPhone 6 rumoured features are a larger screen display with a size between 4.8 to 6 inches. Fingerprint sensor which is one of the main features found in the iPhone 5S will most likely be retained in the next iPhone. Moreover, new patents hinted that iPhone 6 may include a curved screen display and a refocusable light camera although Apple has not confirmed any of these rumours.

Previous rumours pointed to an earlier release date in the first quarter of 2014, probably around March. However, other speculations started to emerge saying that the next iPhone will be released later next year. Some analysts believe that consumers will see the iPhone 6 as early as June or July. Jefferies analyst Peter Misek predicted that the next iPhone will arrive in July. He said that iPhone 5S strong sales may delay the iPhone 6 release date as it removed the pressure in releasing a new device.
