Yesterday International Business Times reported that the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus have been approved by the regulatory body in China. Now, both devices are ready to go on sale in China. For Chinese markets, the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus' release date is Oct 17.
Launching iPhone 6 models in China has not been an easy process for Apple. The launch comes after the company finally gained approval from The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, which examined the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus for security and privacy issues.
The iPhone 6 models were introduced in the US along with nine other countries on Sept 19. The iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus are coming to China almost a month after the devices' US release date. China is undoubtedly the largest smartphone market in the world. It has become a competition platform for local and international mobile companies.
According to GSMArena, preorders for iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus will begin on Oct 10 in China. Those who manage to place preorders can visit the Apple retail stores to pick up their iPhone 6 starting Oct 10.
In China, both handsets will be available in gray, silver and gold. As listed on GSMArena, the Apple iPhone 6 with 16 GB storage is priced at CNY 5,288 ($861); the 64 GB model can be purchased for CNY 6,088 ($991) and the higher 128 GB variant can be bought for CNY 6,888 ($1,121).
