iPhone 6 Leaked Pictures Maybe Fake, But Design Ideas Are Great
The Internet is now crowded with iPhone 6 photos. Look everywhere and the photos are posted landing online while the real iPhone 6 is most likely still in Apple's testing stage.
Prototype 1
It was still vague whether the mobile unit in the photos is the legitimate iPhone 6 prototype when MacRumors took the pictures through an unnamed Twitter account. Other blogs following Apple also posted the photos. Some of these were from Sonny Dickson, an Australian blogger, who is known to show iPad Air photos which came out prior to its release.
From MacRumors' quick analysis on the size of the shell of iPhone 6, the conclusion showed a mobile, which is 4.7-inches diagonally and 2.3-inch in width. iPhone 5s is 4 inches diagonally and has the same width. The iPhone in the photos looks thinner. This display agrees with rumors claiming a version of iPhone 6. The larger one is a device akin to a phablet that is 5.5- or 5.7-inch.
Another batch of iPhone images surfacing on the Web shows a real prototype of iPhone 6. These pics are speculated to have come from China, showing the front and back of the device appearing a larger handset created by Apple.
Prototype 2
Other rumors include a bezel-free design, sapphire glass display and slimmer profile. Others made it appear that the next generation iPhone shall also feature a Sony FaceTime camera and the expected performance improvements.
The Anomalies
It's difficult to know if they are legitimate parts of the upcoming iPhone that stands out immediately that the back part shows FCC markers, which is odd for prototypes. NowhereElse.fr also pointed out several oddities, such as a missing cutout about the SIM tray hole.
Specs-wise, previous reports over the past 6 months have seen a calling for a larger Apple device this year. Many of which noted two distinct sizes: a smaller one of about 4.7-inches and larger device that is 5.5-or 5.7-inches.
While these photos abound and cannot be considered real concepts of the look of the next iPhone, we have to admit we like the larger display and the rear shell similar to iPad. If these really are fake parts, they do give us an idea of what a great design for a larger iPhone looks like, and we are hoping that the upcoming real device is not far from these.
