Report debunks speculations that iPhone 6 will deliver a sapphire glass screen display.

Latin Post cited analysts saying that an iPhone enhanced with sapphire glass maybe too expensive for an ordinary consumer and is unreasonable for the company. The report further states that the new alleged feature is best for smaller screens.

The report also suggests that the new iWatch and iPod line may be the perfect candidates for the sapphire glass. The glass would give Apple's mp3 players new appeal and will catch the attention of buyers. In addition, the iPod mini and iPod shuffle have smaller screens for the sapphire to be cost-effective.

On Monday, Apple is reportedly spent $578 million in a signed deal with GT Advanced Technologies. The company specializes in producing sapphire substrate, also known as sapphire glass. Furthermore, the recently acquired plant in Arizona will be dedicated in the inclusion of sapphire glass in iPhone 6.

Sapphire glass is second to diamond in terms of hardness and is resistant to shatter. Most smartphone screens are made of Corning's Gorilla Glass, which is way cheaper than sapphire glass. Currently, Vertu smartphone is the only smartphone on the market with a sapphire glass touchscreen. The device costs over $3,000.

Some of the rumoured features of the upcoming iPhone 6 are a large screen display within the range of 4.8 to 6 inches. Various analysts agreed that Apple will finally increase the screen size of its iPhone. Moreover, it may retain some of iPhone 5S' new features such the 64-bit A7 processor, M7 graphics chip and the fingerprint sensor. iPhone 6 features may also include a refocusable camera based on the latest patent awarded to Apple.

iPhone 6 release date is speculated to take place early next year, most probably in March. However, new rumours point on a possible release date in June 2014, which is the original launch date of Apple's iPhone.
