If you check the iPhone 6 Plus technical specifications on leading websites like GSMArena, you will come to know that the phablet features 2 GB RAM. However, you will be surprised to know that the iPhone 6 Plus does not feature a 2 GB RAM but only a 1 GB RAM.

A screenshot of the System Status app, which has been uploaded on a Korean discussion forum (via PhoneArena), reveals that the much hyped iPhone 6 Plus is equipped with only 1 GB RAM. It shows that the memory of iPhone 6 Plus as 975.6 MB.

The iPhone 6 also comes with a 1 GB RAM. Apart from the features like 5.5-inch display, larger battery and Optical Image Stabilization feature for the camera, most of the specs of the phablet are the same as what is present inside the iPhone 6.

The pre-orders of both the new iPhone 6 models have broken the pre-order records of all the previous iPhone models. Apple claims that within the initial 24 hours on Sept. 12, they managed to sell more than 24 million units of the new iPhones.

Apple has always sticked to the fact that unlike the Android operating system which requires more amount of RAM to perform smoothly, the iOS can offer smoother performance with less number of RAM. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 which is the major rival of the iPhone 6 Plus phablet is fitted with a 3 GB RAM.

The iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus have common features like the A8 processor, PowerVR GX6650 graphics, 8MP iSight camera, 1.2MP front-facing camera, storage options like 16 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB and Cat. 4 LTE modem.

When the iPhone 6 Plus was launched on Sept. 9, Apple did not speak anything about its RAM. Apple stuck to the tradition of not talking about the RAM capacity as it has done so for previous iPhone models.

According to Macrumors, even though other popular smartphones like the Galaxy S5 is equipped with higher RAM, the battery life of the device is affected. The Galaxy S5's battery can offer 10 hours of web browsing and 12 hours of HD video playback.

On the other side, the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus phablet which is rumoured to feature a 2915 mAh battery and 1 GB RAM can offer better performance. According to PhoneArena, the 2914 battery can offer 12 hours of web browsing on Wi-Fi, LTE and 3G and 14 hours of HD video playback.
