iPhone 6 release date may take place in the second quarter of next year, according to a report of Investor's Business Daily.

The report said that Apple's calendar usually have an iPhone release date every 12 months. However, this could change by next year.

"A source in the tech supply chain in China and Taiwan told Cantor Fitzgerald analyst Brian White that the iPhone 6 is expected to launch in the second or third quarter of 2014. That would mean the rumored bigger-screen iPhone would come out between the start of April and end of September next year," the report stated.

Susquehanna Financial Group analyst Chris Caso also expressed that he expects the iPhone 6 to come out late in Q2 2014. According to Caso, Apple is quite pressured to release a new smartphone quickly because of its rival Samsung, which release a myriad of handsets each year.

However, all of the analysts agreed in one thing, this is that iPhone 6 will come with a larger screen display. Market research firm DisplaySearch said that it reached out to sources from the Apple supply chain who claimed that the iPhone 6 will pack a screen display that is 5.7 inches in size.

iPhone 6 with larger screen is seconded by other analysts. Jefferies & Co. analyst Peter Misek wrote in his latest note to investors early this week that the next iPhone 6 will pack a bigger screen display as Apple bagged a sweet deal with one of its suppliers. KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi Kuo also stated that iPhone 6 with bigger screen display is on its way in his latest note.

It is speculated that iPhone 6 will be Apple's "phablet" flagship phone. This is probably true if the new smartphone will pack a 5.7 inches screen display, which is one inch less than iPad Mini and the same size as Samsung Galaxy Note 3's. Aside from larger screen display between 4.8 to 6 inches, iPhone 6 features may also include a 64-bit A7 processor, M7 graphics chip, Touch ID fingerprint sensor and iOS 7 like the recently released iPhone 5S.

Near Field Communication and internal storage of up to 128GB that were lacking in the previous iPhones may finally come to the iPhone 6.

However, Apple confirmed none of these rumours as well as the iPhone 6 release date.
