iPhone 6 Release Date Remains On Course for Sept-Oct 2014 as Apple Delays iWatch Debut to 2015

That Apple's iWatch will likely not materialise until the early months of 2015 seems bad news but the good news is - all the tech giant's energy and attention are now focused on the iPhone 6 release date this 2014, somehow ensuring that no delay will attend the arrival of the next iPhone.

The latest forecast from Ming-chi Kuo of KGI Securities indicates that Apple will not rollout its first wearable device until 2015. Previously, the same analyst, who is known for his fairly accurate advanced readings involving Apple products and devices, had predicted that the iWatch will see the light of the day November this year, according to MacRumors.

The iOS-powered timepiece was also reported to enter mass production anytime this August 2014 if not already underway.

It could be the same case but not for the device's commercial release that according to Kuo will likely be pushed as far back as 2015. The basic reason given by the latest KGI report is the highly complicated and difficult manufacturing process for the iWatch, which is being touted as the iPhone 6's main companion gadget but with stand-alone features.

Building the iWatch, according to a report by Apple Insider, is faced by serious issues that involve "components, system design, manufacturing and integration between hardware and software."

One particular challenge is the entry of two new materials to Apple's supply chains - AMOLED display and sapphire that be used on the face of the smartwatch, added the report.

Introducing the device, however, could remain this year as the likelihood is Apple will unveil the iWatch either in September - the month that the iPhone 6 will supposedly get unboxed - or in October, which is rumoured as the preview month for the iPad Air 2 and the iPad Mini 3.

One possible impact, positive at that, of the iWatch debut moved to 2015 is Apple will be able train its undivided attention to the 2014 iPhone push, likely eliminating any possibilities of delay in the touchdown of the handset refresh.

Kuo himself has previously claimed that while two iPhone models are geared to come out anytime in the last three months of the year, the devices will roll out separately.

The 4.7-inch model is said to unwrap on September 9 but buyers will only get to tinker with the gadget in early October.

And there'll be a jumbo-sized iPhone 6 at 5.5-inch and this first Apple phablet, according to numerous analysts, is believed set for a December 2014 release date, which Kuo maintained is likely the earliest push out time for the hotly anticipated hybrid Android killer.
