iPhone 6 may be more expensive compared to its predecessor due to the high end features it will pack in the smartphone.

Susquehanna International Group analyst Chris Caso claimed that iPhone 6 may be more expensive than iPhone 5S. The company may deviate from the normal pricing strategy of Apple and its recent habit of releasing low end devices. It seems that Apple's change in marketing strategy is not working and the company will shift gears in releasing high end devices with higher price in order to maintain its place in the market.

Below are the top five rumoured features that will probably make the iPhone 6 the most expensive iPhone yet.

Bigger Curved Screen Display

Mr Caso said that the increase in price of iPhone 6 is due to a larger screen display. Various analysts predicted that iPhone 6 will pack a bigger screen with size ranging from 4.5 to 6 inches. The higher price of the device would enable Apple to protect its gross margins, which would deteriorate otherwise due to increasing materials costs.

Sapphire Glass Covering

Another rumoured feature that is making the rounds is the use of an extremely strong Sapphire glass for the smartphone's screen display. Apple already used the technology on the cover of iPhone 5S and Touch ID home button. Sapphire glass is roughly 2.5 times stronger than the glass currently used in smartphones, many of which use Gorilla Glass from Corning. However, this will be an additional cost for Apple that will be passed on to consumers.

Liquidmetal casing

According to the latest patents picked up by Patently Apple, iPhone 6 may sport an armour-like casing made out of new covering material called Liquidmetal. This covering will make the Apple's smartphone an indestructible device. One of the most common complaints among Apple users is the fragility of the company's devices. The glass covering of iPhones breaks easily. Thus, accidental destruction of iPhones may no longer happen in the future. Liquidmetal makes use of glassy alloy or a composite screen panel material that is formed by "using a deeply undercooled glass forming liquid. This particular embodiment is mostly concentrated on the iPhone's backside."

Refocusable camera

iPhone 6 features may include a refocusable, Lytro-like camera, according to the latest patent awarded to Apple. Lytro camera is an innovative device and technology that enable users to refocus their pictures giving the photo more life compared to the traditional 2D shot. The latest patent of Apple describes a camera system that uses a microlens adaptor that will allow users to refocus the image after the initial shot is taken.

Solar Wireless Charging

iPhone 6 may also pack a solar wireless charging feature. This feature is supported by a patent filed by Apple back in February. Apple secured a patent for the use of solar panels in portable devices. This integrated touch sensor and solar assembly would involve integrating social cells into a touch screen by using electrodes that can pull double duty as a solar cell and a touch sensor.
