iPhone 6 Release Date on September 20; Killer Features Revealed in Patents
The iPhone 6 release date may be on September 20 and Apple may hold the launching event on September 10.
The launching event, which is 10 days ahead of the device's release date, will unveil the iPhone 6 running with iOS 7. This has been the practice of Apple for its previous releases. Apple already released the iOS 7 beta 5 download for developers, signalling the imminent release of the official version of the operating system along with the iPhone 6.
Moreover, some of the killer features of the next Apple's iPhone were revealed by the patents applied by and granted to Apple.
The latest patent found filed by Apple hinted that the next iPhone will be waterproof. One of the most common causes of damage to the iPhone is being soaked to water. The new patent filing suggested that Apple may include water-resistant barrier to the device so that when the handset is exposed to liquids, the liquid will not be able to infiltrate the phone and eventually cause damages internally.
Another important patent filed by Apple is the fingerprint scanner. Apple acquired the patent from security company AuthenTec when it bought the company.
A patent for flexible display and battery was also found last month. It allows the iPhone to be more flexible. Aside from the iPhone, this patent could be best applied on the rumoured iWatch.
The iPhone 6 features may include a A7 Quad Core Processor and a large storage capacity. The handset will be available in 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB variants. It was also rumoured that the iPhone 6 will also feature a retina + display and dual LED flash.
However, it was still unconfirmed whether the new handset will increase the screen size of the next iPhone as well as include a Near Field Communication.
We will all finally get to see if rumors of the iPhone 6's release date, features and specs are true come September 10 when Apple will release its official statement.
