iPhone 6 release date may showcase an amazing flexible, wraparound screen display that will rival Samsung Galaxy S5.

According to the latest patent filed by Apple picked up by Patently Apple, the file showed a bendable screen made using a powder Liquidmetal process. With a flexible, wraparound screen display, users will be able to view content on both the front and back as well as on the sides of the device but Apple's patent has non-touch surfaces at the top and bottom. The document also noted that the device will use a gyroscope and accelerometer to adjust the display depending on the user's viewing angles.

Furthermore, the patent mentioned that the display materials can be moulded into different shapes, including hollow cylinders, tubes, triangles and rectangles, sparking rumours that it could be used in different product categories like a smartwatch.

The patent also cited that it will be using Liquidmetal in its screen. This is not the first time that Apple will make use of such material. The metallic cover of the current iPhone 5S is laced with Liquidmetal as well as the aluminium band that wraps around the handset's edges that overlaps under the phone's thin bezels. Patently Apple also cited that some Apple accessories make use of the said technology. For example, the Smart cover that Apple sells for use on the original iPad and iPad Mini is also embedded with Liquidmetal.

Liquidmetal may make most of the exterior covering that will protect the iPhone 6 and its inner components. Coupled with the rumoured sapphire glass could make the speculated future smartphone indestructible.

Rumours claimed that the iPhone 6 will sport a larger screen display with a size between 4.8 to 6 inches. The smartphone will most likely retain some of the iPhone 5S features such as 64-bit A7 processor, M7 graphics chip and the fingerprint sensor. Moreover, other Apple patents hinted that the iPhone 6 may include a curved screen display and a refocusable light camera but Apple has not confirmed any of these rumours.

As for the release date, previous rumours pointed to an earlier release date in the first quarter of 2014, probably around March. However, other speculations started to emerge saying that the next iPhone will be released later next year. Some analysts think that iPhone 6 will be introduced to the public in June or July.
