Nothing stops the ever-churning smartphone rumor mill. Analysts have begun sprouting theories about the specs and features of the next-generation iPhone even a few months after the release of the iPhone 5s. As mentioned by NASDAQ, in a world where the next president is groomed after the president has been elected, it is never too early to speculate about the next iPhone.

In the past years, the iPhone has lost its glimmering glory in the shadow of other devices like the Samsung Galaxy S4, Motorola Moto X, Google Nexus 5 and the HTC One. Android smartphones are all packed with equally advanced features like Apple iPhone. Since then, the iPhone has not been as special as it was before when it was launched and had almost no competitor in the market.

Here are some rumors and theories about what Apple is about to deliver to its fans in the next year.

Bigger Curved Screen

Apple iPhones usually set the standards of what the smartphone should be, however, the tech giant is expected to jump into the bandwagon of 5-inch Android smartphones called phablets. The iPhone looks diminutive relative to its Android competitors and rumor has it that the upcoming iPhone 6 will sport a bigger screen. Prototypes in 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screens will be tested by Apple which means that we will be seeing iPhones with bigger screens.

Apart from bigger screens, Apple iPhone will introduce a curved screen similar to the Samsung Galaxy Round and the LG G Flex. Also, if rumors are true, the iPhone screen will feature a wraparound screen design which can provide its users extra dimension on its interface.

Motion Control

Apple recently acquired PrimeSense, an Israeli company, which is responsible for the motion sensor of the original Kinect from Microsoft. Although the acquisition could mean a myriad of possibilities, motion control could be incorporated with the next-generation iPhone.

Plenoptic Camera

Along with the PrimeSense buyout, Apple might introduce a plenoptic camera on its iPhone. This technology allows users to adjust the focal point of the photo even after the picture is taken, which gives the iPhone photos dynamic edge.

Sapphire Coating

The iPhone 6 is reported to ditch the Gorilla Glass screen for the concrete scratch-resistant sapphire coating which is currently on the camera lens and the TouchID of the iPhone 5s. The sapphire coating will make the entire iPhone scratch-proof but more expensive.
