Now that Samsung released the Galaxy S5, all eyes turn to Apple. The two tech giants have a long standing rivalry over their devices especially with their smartphones. According to recent information, Apple's iPhone 6 may feature touch screen editing, a new Siri and remote headset. The patents acquired recently by the tech giant hint a potential revolutionary phone. Will these features be in the iPhone 6?

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office published 33 newly approved or granted patents under Apple. These patents include iDevice editing, Apple Store-offered signage docks, technology relating to Siri and remote headsets.

Previously, Apple introduced Siri as an iOS application. The program was offered under Apple via Siri, Inc., the company Apple acquired back in April 2010. Throughout the years, Siri became an important feature of the iOS starting from the iOS 5. It was re-launched as part of the iPhone 4s.

Siri is a Norwegian term which means "beautiful woman who leads you to victory." According to a report by Patently Apple, the tech giant obtained a patent describing a technology about intelligent systems. The technology pertained to categories of applications describing intelligent automated assistants.

The patent features a range of embodiments with a range of intelligent automated assistant. The automated assistant oversees user interaction ensuring the person can access remote or local services conveniently. Likewise, the patent details an automated assistant engaging with the user through natural language dialogue.

Credited individuals include Didier Guzzoni, Christopher Brigham, Thomas Gruber, Adam Cheyer and Harry Saddler for inventing patent 8,660,849 named "Prioritizing selection criteria by automated assistant."

Apple has also been given a patent describing the use of multifunction devices featuring touch screen displays. The devices are capable of conducting edits like copying, cutting and pasting user-selected content. Although the feature sounds normal for many smartphones, editing is not as easy or common among handheld devices. This should give Apple an advantage, especially with user experience.

This is patent 8,661,362, credited to Kenneth Kocienda, Bradford Allen and Scott Forstall. Apple obtained a similar or related patent, 8,661, 339, called "Devices, methods, and graphical user interfaces for document manipulation."

In addition, Apple received a new patent on remote headsets allowing users to attach accesories to their devices wirelessly. This is patent 8,658,926. People will have to wait for Apple to discuss the features fully on the upcoming device.
