iPhone 6 Release Update: Pegatron Set to Start Production in Q2
Pegatron Corporation is currently busy hiring for its new factory for the production of iPhone 6 that will begin in the second quarter ramping it up in the third quarter of 2014, according to China Times.
According to the report, Pegatron will collaborate with the Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd to manufacture iPhone 6. The exact orders from each company is still unknown but it might be a big split as the China Times reported the company is hiring workers to manufacture the handset.
Apple seems to be diversifying its supply chain and handling more responsibility to Pegatron. At present, Pegatron only manufactures the less expensive iPhone 5C.
iPhone 6 Release Date Update
Several rumors on the iPhone 6 release date are surfacing. Some claim it could be as early as June while another suggests iPhone 6 might not launch until the fall. The fall iPhone 6 release date would be in line with the launch dates of the past iPhones. iPhone 5s and iPhone 5C were released in the fall of the previous year.
It is expected iPhone 6 will sport a bigger screen. According to Apple Insider, around this time last year, there were more accurate pictures about the plans of Apple for the next generation iPhone, then rumors about iPhone 5s and iPhone 5C began to firm up.
Apple was also reported to launch two variants of iPhone 6, which could be 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch versions. Also, rumors noted iPhone 6 might feature humidity and pressure sensors with an ultra-thin device.
Apple made no official statements about iPhone 6 yet. Thus, we can expect more rumors in the days to come as we move closer to iPhone 6 release date.
