iPhone 6 September Release Date and Different Design Hinted, Trade-in Program to Come to AU Soon
The iPhone 6 release date continues to elude fans even after the WWDC 2014 has come and gone. But avid iPhone followers have started to look at the clues supposedly peppering the event.
As far as the info that has been gathered about Apple's iPhone 6, there is now the belief that the second half of September would be the possible release date.
Phone Arena reports that the first clue is in the fact that the iOS 8 will be rolled out to the public by September. Given how Apple has released an OS, it's highly likely that it will do so alongside a new handset.
The last handset in the iPhone family was released last September 20, with only the iPhone 4S seeing a much later release date on October 2011.
Curved Design Hinted Again?
With the number of leaks coming out for the iPhone 6, the latest leak spotted roaming in the Internet involves the image of a curved glass screen with a much bigger display size.
BGR reports that the curve can be seen at the bottom, somewhat a confirmation of other reports wherein the iPhone 6 will have a bigger display compared to the iPhone 5S, as well as a curved edge at the bottom.
Another leaked image, seen in the link above, shows off just how big the screen size and overall bulk of the iPhone 6 is compared to the iPhone 5S-the length alone is seen as massive in comparison, while the screen hints that Apple may be ready to move away from its less-than-five-inch display.
Trade-in Program Now in Italy, Reported for Australia
For those prepping for the coming of the iPhone 6 will be happy to know that the Apple Trade-in Program will debut in two areas. The first is Italy, where the program is already rolling out, according to 9 to 5 Mac.
Older iPhone models from 3G and up can now be traded in for as much as €220 or around $300. But that's not all. Though there's no definite date on where the final debut of the trade-in program will be, it seems that Apple is also targeting Australia to be part of this new program.
The source adds that employees are already in training in Australia for the past few days, reportedly in relation to the expected rollout of the trade-in program. So far, the Apple Trade-in Program is present in the markets in U.S., U.K., Germany, France, Spain and Canada.
