The newly released Apple iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are going to be the hottest smartphones this holiday season based on its sales so far. The latest buzz, however, is swirling around the successor handsets to these two phones: the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

Since Apple is focusing on sales of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, it’s not revealed any official information about the iPhone 7. Apple’s suppliers (the guys that make the iPhones), however, have leaked several details about the iPhone 7. Based on what they’ve shared and on info from everywhere else, here’s all the information available on the upcoming iPhone 7.

Slimmer design

The Apple iPhone 7 should be slimmer than the iPhone 6s. Popular KGI Securities analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo predicted the iPhone 7 will sport a slim 6.5 mm profile, according to Apple Insider.

It will be slim because TSMC’s “integrated fan out” technology will make it possible to stack internal chips on top of each other, thereby reducing the vertical height of the device. Word also indicates the iPhone 7 will be clad in a waterproof chassis that will squirt water out from its speakers and microphone ports, International Business Times reported.

No headphone jack

The 3.5 mm headphone jack won’t be available on the iPhone 7. The lightning port is likely to serve as a connector for an earphone.

Apple A10 chipset

The Apple A10 chipset will power the iPhone 7. It will be supplied by TSMC and its mass production will kick-off in March 2016. TSMC’s the same company that supplied the Apple A9 chips for the iPhone 6s and 6s. BGR reports rumors the A10 SoC will be a six-core processor that will be built with 10 nm or 14 nm technology.

RAM

The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus both come with 2 GB of RAM. The purported iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus might have different RAM capacities, however. The iPhone 7 will continue to feature 2 GB of RAM, but the iPhone 7 Plus will pack 3 GB of RAM.

Wireless charging

The iPhone 7 could become the first iPhone to feature wireless charging. Apple may either use Qualcomm’s wireless charging technology or use the inbuilt speaker coil to enable wireless charging on the iPhone 7.

iPhone 7 release date

The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are slated to follow the same old release pattern Apple uses to launch its smartphones. They’re expected to release in September 2016. Apple, however, is said to be currently working on a 4-inch iPhone 6C handset that might be unveiled as early as January 2016.
