iPhone5 as Yesterday's Technology? 5 Things Users Are (Probably) Missing
iPhone5 drew more than 2 million pre-orders within 24 hours of the pre-order window in September 2012. Fast forward to six months later in Australia, the 6th generation Apple smartphone remains pricey at around $759 for the 16GB variant. Now exciting new phones with similar price tags have arrived, almost taunting the iPhone 5 as yesterday's technology. What five top things could have spelled the difference from the start?

There's always "more on that later" in every iPhone release. It is as if Apple has been telling a story, but it's been deliberately deciding to leave off some details until the next edition. In this case, Apple iPhone users are waiting for an iPhone 5s or iPhone 6 to get a complete iPhone5 story. Then a new wish list will be made by users. The cycle goes on.
That iPhone5 is not perfect should be all cool, except other brands are coming out with what Apple is not giving its users. At the end of the day, buyers have different needs. There is no one phone that matches everyone's requirements. But here are five of the things that turned shoppers away from the iPhone 5. These are also some of the things that gadget shoppers are looking for in the latest phone releases.

5. Freedom and control. It is not just an iPhone5 issue, but an iOS old news. On the one hand, it protects users from virus or malware attacks. On the other, the device has so much potential left unleashed. Jailbreaking is also becoming more cumbersome as opposed to rooting an Android device.
4. Practicality/affordability. The iPhone 5 is expected to drop its price tag as soon as news of iPhone5s or 6 becomes more solid and official. But today, the phone does sound expensive against emerging competition.
3. 5-in visual delight. At the CES event in January, the waterproof and dustproof 5-in Android Sony Xperia Z smartphone turned many gadget shoppers' heads worldwide. Recently, at the Mobile World Congress, the 4.7-in Android HTC One sparked some huge interest for its Super LCD 3 screen and some very special features, like the Blinkfeed. Many iPhone 5 users are probably not fans of huge displays. But in terms of pixel density and visible clarity, the HTC One is definitely making many Apple owners rethink their gadget shopping choices.
2. Extra storage. The HTC One does not offer extra storage, but Sony Xperia Z does. Many users don't mind about the lack of external card slots. But there are gadget shoppers who have been realizing the 32GB iPhone 5 variant is just too expensive for what the phone can do in general.
1. Ultimate connectivity. The missing NFC connectivity feature was one of the loudest complaints heard when the iPhone5 was released. This is also one of the things that Apple must be delivering in its next storytelling chapter, the iPhone 5s or iPhone 6.
