The office of Australia’s Prime Minister releases Prince William’s itinerary from March 19 to 21
The office of Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard has released the itinerary for Prince William’s three day Royal visit to Queensland and Victoria.
His first leg of the visit will be at Queensland particularly in Cardwell, Tully, Cassowary Coast and Cairns.
Prince William will first meet with the community members and volunteers at Cardwell in Queensland then travel to Tully to meet with the members and volunteers of the Cassowary Coast community. He will meet another group of community members particularly those who were involved in the recovery effort in Cairns.
After the first leg of the visit, the Prince will travel to southeast Queensland to meet community members and volunteers in Ipswich and Grantham.
Following his visit to southeast Queensland, the Prince is headed to Toowoomba to attend the Spirit of Country concert, in hopes to help lift the spirits of communities affected by flood. He is also planning on meeting the SES and emergency crew workers for an opportunity to thank them for their efforts in the recovery operations at the height of the devastating flood. His last stop will be at a disaster fund-raising reception in Brisbane before he heads to Victoria.
As seen in the itinerary, the Prince will also have a busy schedule in Victoria. He is scheduled to attend a briefing before being escorted to inspect areas that are still under water in Kerang found in the northwest part of the state. Though it was not clear if this was his last stop, Prince William is also scheduled to attend a community barbecue at the small rural township of Murrabit.
The Brisbanetimes.com.au noted that Australian Prime Minister has expressed optimism on the Prince’s decision to spend time with the victims of the disaster that hit Australia early this year. His planned meetings with crews and support workers is also appreciated said the Prime Minister and will do good for Down Under.
The St. James Palace confirmed Prince William’s scheduled Royal visit to Australia from March 19 to 21. The Prince will come to Down Under alone and will not be accompanied by future bride, Kate Middleton. The Australian officials had earlier claimed that the Prince has expressed wishes for an informal visit to the disaster-affected areas in hopes to come closer to the people, particularly the victims and the support workers and volunteers.
