Asus remains one of the leading tech manufacturers. With the release of the new Nexus 7 and the refreshed FonePad, the company continues to prove their competencies in developing and producing some of the best computing devices today. Lately, Asus has been moving away from just a contractor to other big tech companies. It is creating a niche of its own and the 7-inch dual phablet to be released soon is proof of that.

The Taiwan based tech firm Asus is prepping up for a series of major launches for the following months. Gizbot interviewed Asus India regarding details of the launches. Out of the releases, the DUAL SIM phablet is attracting attention. Asus confirmed R&D for the device.

The phablet will feature a 7-inch display and 8GB internal memory. Details on the pricing remains within affordable range though this will depend on the country where the device will be shipped. According to Gizbot, the Asus executive hinted that phablet's release date to be around October.

As Google just released the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update, it is likely, the Dual SIM phablet will run on that. Reports say Asus will be using Intel processor though the company will have to confirm it. Most phablets and smartphones coming out use Qualcomm's Snapdragon instead. The device supports 3G voice calling.

Asus will need to confirm if they unit will have 1GB or 2GB of RAM.

Some analysts say it may hard for Asus to go for the 2GB RAM version since the price will change. This can affect the competitiveness of the phablet against similar offerings like Sony's Xperia Z Ultra and Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

The last quarter will be seeing more tablet hybrids. Question now is, who will dominate?
