Jake Gyllenhaal's Mom Always Present On His First Dates
Jake Gyllenhaal does not believe getting to know a woman for quite some time first before bringing her home to meet his family. He told Ellen Degeneres that all the women he went out with were taken to meet his mom on the very first date.
In his interview with the infamous talk show host and comedian, Gyllenhaal shared that for him, it is still a good move for his mom to meet his ladies, on the very first date. This is why he always bring his dates to his mom’s home for first date. He said his mom believes that if she picks out girls for him to date, “he’ll do a lot better.” He explained that his mother even think arrayed marriages are a great idea, "in a good way."
He shared to Ellen that currently though, he is single, putting all those rumours linking him to Rachel McAdams to rest. He was linked to Taylor Swift back in 2010 but the romance was quite brief. Allegedly, Swift wrote about him on her song “All Too Well.”
In other news, the actor reportedly suffered his second snub from prestigious awarding events. The 2015 Tony nominations were announced on Tuesday morning, but Gyllenhaal’s performance on the “Constellations” was not given a nod that he deserved. Expected contenders such as “Fun Home,” actress Elisabeth Moss and Bradley Cooper were all nominated, making Gyllenhaal’s absence from the nominees even more intriguing. His co-star, Ruth Wilson was nominated for her performance as well. According to Bustle.com, Gyllenhaal deserves to be nominated because “Constellations” was a great work and both him and Wilson were even lauded by the movie critics. Critics claimed that Gyllenhaal was able to deliver a satisfactory performance alongside a more experienced actress, Wilson. Many predicted that both of them would be nominated but only Wilson got the recognition.
The year must not be Gyllenhaal’s year, because this is his second snub of the year. His stellar performance on the “Nightcrawler” was also ignored at the Oscars. Many expected that he would get a “Best Actor” nomination and even be ahead of the competition, but he did not even make the cut.
