Jennifer Lopez Was 'Terrified Of Being Alone' After Her Divorce From Marc Anthony
Jennifer Lopez has called her divorce from husband Marc Anthony “awful.” The actress, who graces the upcoming issue of People magazine, said that post her break-up from Marc, she decided not to date anyone. The actress said that it was difficult for her to stay alone, but she made a conscious decision to stay by herself.
“I was terrified of being alone: The idea that we are alone in this world, we were born alone, we die alone—it sent panic through my body,” Lopez is quoted as saying by People (via Eonline). The singer turned actress thinks that she jumped into the relationships because she “hated being alone.” She reportedly made “silly choices” and let people treat her the way they wanted. The two times Grammy nominee said she took naïve decisions about her relationships in her young age.
“But I think in our 20s and 30s we're meant to explore and make a ton of mistakes and then by our 40s we come more full circle and figure things out,” she said, according to the website. Lopez married Marc in a private ceremony after her break-up from Ben Affleck in 2004. Jennifer and Marc became parents to twins, son Maximilian David and a daughter, Emme Maribel in 2008. The couple announced their split in 2011. The reason for their divorce is not known.
Post her divorce, Lopez dated her former back-up dancer Casper Smart from 2011 to 2014. She pulled a plug on her relationship with Smart for unknown reasons. Since then, the actress has been linked to her “The Boy Next Door” co-star Ryan Guzman. However, Lopez revealed that in her recent interview that she is single and is not dating anyone. She also said that Guzman has a girlfriend, reported Hollywood Reporter.
Meanwhile, Lopez is currently gearing up for her new movie “The Boy Next Door.” In the film, she plays the role of a divorced high school teacher who indulges in a one-night stand with her next-door young neighbour. Her life turns upside down when the latter becomes obsessed with her.
