Blizzard has been active lately with expanding several of their games with several additions. “World of Warcraft” is set to receive a new expansion named Legion, “Overwatch” and “Heroes of the Storm” received new characters and maps, while “Hearthstone” got new cards. Now, new rumours point to a possible expansion to “Diablo 3.”

A job listing at Blizzard’s official website show that a possible “Diablo” project is in the works. This could mean a sequel to the popular RPG game, or it could more likely be a new expansion. The listing is for an art director to work on an "unannounced project" but it also says that the listing is for “Diablo.”

Blizzard almost went all out at Gamescom 2015 with announcements from all their games excluding “Diablo.” If a new expansion is in the works, it is very likely that it will be revealed at Blizzard’s annual convention, Blizzcon. Usually, the star of Blizzcon is “World of Warcraft,” but since Blizzard has already unveiled the details on Legion it is likely it will put more attention to “Diablo 3.”

The latest iteration to the “Diablo” franchise has been doing well since its launch in 2012. It received generally positive reviews but players complained about the faulty servers that made them wait for minutes before playing. Also, it was highly criticized for having an auction house that allows players to spend real money on virtual items. However, the release of the Reaper of Souls expansion shed some new light on the game by removing the auctions house, tweaking the game difficulty and adding a new class and chapter to the story.

The upcoming Blizzcon will run from Nov. 6-7 at the Anaheim Convention Center. Tickets are currently on sale at the official website of the event. Aside from announcements, Blizzard will also hosts several championship games for some titles including “World of Warcraft” and “Heroes of the Storm.”
