'Eat Pray Love' film editor Bradly Buecker revealed that he used Final Cut Pro for his editorial workflow for the adaptation of the Elizabeth Gilbert's memoir. Buecker said that 'Final Cut Pro' is the system of his choice. He equipped himself and his two assistant editors with mirrored Mac Pro and Macbook Pro computers running Final Cut Studio.

Buecker said that the editorial challenge was to maximize efficiency. "We wanted to be able to see the highest quality image with the lowest possible file size, and be able to move files quickly from notebook to desktop and from room to room." He and his assistant editors found an efficient solution in ProRes 422 (Proxy), a new version of the Apple ProRes codec introduced with Final Cut Pro 7.

"The ProRes codec was the foundation of our workflow and absolutely instrumental in our editing process," Assistant Editor Doc Crotzer said, "The quality and the small file sizes allow us flexibility we wouldn't have using any other codec. We were able to cut in Proxy and in a few simple keystrokes be reconnected in ProRes 422 (HQ) to output for a screening."

'Eat Love Pray' opened strongly at the box office with $23.7 million. It follows Julia Robert as Elizabeth Gilbert as she travels around the world after a failed pregnancy and a divorce. 'Nip/Tuck' and 'Glee' creator Ryan Murphy directed the movie.
