Dina explained that Lindsay has been contemplating on the move to drop her father’s last name for some time, adding that the 24-year-old actress is ‘trying to distance herself’ from her estranged father, Michael Lohan.
The starlet’s mother recounted that Lindsay’s plan to drop her dad’s last name was cemented when she realized that ‘she no longer needed it’ following her $100 million lawsuit against E*Trade TV ad, featuring a baby with a slogan that said ‘that milkaholic Lindsay’.

The mother of the ‘Mean Girls’ star also said that she along with her younger daughter, Ali are also planning on changing their last names officially and they prefer to use her maiden name, Sullivan.
Lindsay’s official announcement to erase her dad’s last name followed shortly after her father was charged with assaulting his girlfriend.
It also came after her lawyer, Atty. Shawn Chapman Holley, told the LA court judge that the actress is rejecting the judge’s plea that means Lindsay is ready to face trial scheduled on April 22.
