Canadian teen sensation, Justin Bieber among the artists featured on a digital-only album now being rushed to raise funds for the victims of Japan’s twin disasters - - earthquake and tsunamis.
The sensational teen singer will be joining other artists who are already confirmed as included in the upcoming album scheduled to be finalized by the end of the week.
Some of these artists are Rihanna, Bon Jovi and Nicki Minaj and Irish rockers, U2. Reuters said that Lady Gaga will likely be part of the selected list since she had already raised money for the victims of Japan with the special wristband she had initiated selling following the disaster on March 11.
The album is considered world’s biggest record label expected to be released worldwide in hopes to raise funds for the victims. Proceeds of the digital-only album will go to Japanese Red Cross.
"We are doing it only digitally because it is faster, and this will be a worldwide release. The plan is to have it available later this week," the spokesman was quoted as saying by Reuters.
Artists who agreed to be included in the line-up are expected to waive their royalties for songs that appear on the said record since proceeds will be forwarded to Japanese Red Cross to provide financial assistance to thousands of victims that have been killed in the twin disasters following Japan quake on March 11.
An estimated 21,000 people are reportedly dead or missing following the incident. Japan has remained on alert following because of the recurring threat brought by the nuclear power plants in the country.
