Justin Bieber not a sore loser at Grammys
With not even a single award at Grammys, Justin Bieber says he'll survive the setback
Teen pop sensation, Justin Bieber is considered a strong contender for many of the major categories given at the 53rd annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, that it shocked his millions of fans when he was defeated in all of them, leaving him with no music statuette as he left the Staples Center Sunday night.
The Canadian pop star was nominated for the Best New Artist category but the statue was bagged by jazz singer and bassist, Esperanza Spalding. He was also a strong contender for the Best Pop Vocal Album but the award went to Lady Gaga, on top of her two more wins at the music award.
But Bieber did not appear affected by the defeat and he was quick to congratulate Spalding who robbed him of a major award.
“I’m really happy for her, and hopefully she has a good year,” the young sensation was quoted by Reuters as telling reporters backstage.
His huge defeat in the awards night, added Reuters, was not taken too lightly by his millions of fans, who took to Twitter their disappointment at the unexpected turn of events and expressed their full support for their idol.
Knowing how his fans feel about his loss, the young singer talked to reporters backstage, an ‘uncustomary move’ as Reuters described it, but which had earned him more respect from media. Bieber assured his millions of followers through reporters backstage fans that he could get back on his feet and ‘survive the setback’ after the Grammys.
In fact the kid has already plans lined up following the big music event on February 13, 2011. Reuters noted that Bieber was overheard telling Usher that he would fly to London Monday and the two made plans to connect at the continent as they excused themselves from the throng of reporters.
