A few days right after Katy Perry finally spoke up about her recent divorce from Russell Brand, she also announced that she will not be attending the People's Choice Awards by Wednesday in LA.

She expressed her gratitude though for the support shown by her fans over at Tweeter saying: "I want to thank u all for voting for me, fingers crossed! #KATYCATS."

The singer is set to possibly win for seven award categories like Favourite Pop Artist, Favourite Female Artist and also Song of the Year for her song "E.T." where she was joined in by Kanye West. Just after a week of Brand filing for divorce, it was the social networking site that became the number one sounding board of the young singer without even confirming the formality of their separation then.

It was her memorable tweet that left a huge impression to many of her fans saying: "You guys have made my heart happy again."

Then it was in another tweet that she explained there is no one that speaks on her behalf; that not even a closest member of her family would do so to give respect to her privacy.

She is set to appear for her California Dreams Tour during the latter parts of January - on the 19th in Indonesia and on the 22nd in the Philippines, as her website says. The next awards show appearance that she may be in would be on February 12 for the Grammys already where she is nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance for 'Firework' and Record of the Year as well.
