Australian singer Keith Urban recently opened up about his father’s ill health and revealed that he has only got a few more weeks.

The country music singer visited the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum recently for his first exhibit and got emotional while telling about his father’s medical condition. Keith’s father, Bob Urban, was also a musician and had great role in shaping up Keith’s career in music as he adviced and supported him through his entire career. Bob is currently in hospice care owing to his ill health.

"He's probably only got a few weeks, if that. I've just been dealing with that the last couple of days. This has all come at a very strange time where it's typical of a career that has extreme highs and extreme lows all often at the exact same time, Keith told The Tennessean. However, Keith refrained from revealing the ailment his father was suffering from.

“So (the exhibit) is bittersweet a little bit because (my dad) is the catalyst for all of this. My dad is the catalyst for me living in America," the 48-year-old singer revealed. Keith has time and again accredited his father for making him everything that he is today and the impact of the heartbreaking news was evident at the exhibit as well.

According to Brisbane Times, Keith was born in New Zealand and was brought up in Australia, where his father worked in a convenience store back then. Bob also had a fetish for music and was also an amateur drummer.

In order to make a career in country music, Keith moved to Nashville in the early '90s and managed to release chart-topping numbers in almost a decade. He is married to actress Nicole Kidman for over a decade now.

It was in February that Keith took to Instagram to post a picture with his father.

“Being a Dad gives me a WHOLE new love and appreciation for my Dad - and everything he’s done for me. - KU #withdad,” read the picture caption.
