The iPad Air and iPad Mini 2 offer portability and functionality. At times, they can substitute a full laptop allowing people to accomplish basic tasks. Similar to iOS 7 in iPhone, people using keyboards with their iPads can also have an easier time working with the device through shortcuts. There are number of keyboard shortcuts that should cut the work and effort.

For system shortcuts, iPhonehacks listed the following:

  • F1 Dim screen
  • F2 Brighten screen
  • F7 Back one song
  • F8 Play/pause
  • F9 Skip song
  • F10 Mute
  • F11 Decrease volume
  • F12 Increase volume
  • ⌘ Space Display - this provides a list of available languages. Userscan choose a language by tapping the space bar.

As for text selection and navigation, keyboard shortcuts for iPad Air and iPad Mini are similar to Mac. It should not be hard for people to remember them. The shortcuts are as follows:

It is best for users to enable VoiceOver in their iOS. This feature will allow people to switch between apps more conveniently. To turn on VoiceOver, go over to Settings, choose General then select Accessibility. There will be a function allowing users to switch on the feature.
