Killer Samsung Galaxy Note Edge Clad In ‘Gold’ Spotted [Images Linked]
The one-of-a-kind Samsung Galaxy Note Edge has a new variant in the offing. Reportedly, the upcoming variant has a gold-plated exterior, taking the already unique handset to a whole new level. It is worth noting that, the unique selling point of the Galaxy Note Edge smartphone is the curved display on the right side, which comes with a thin strip of bent-glass. The bent-side has the capability to display notifications, virtual controls, stock information and game scores, among others.
The killer images of the head-turner of a device, the gold-plated Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, have been leaked from Vietnam. Going by the first look of the images, Samsung has used a "considerable amount of gold" to build the impressive device. [Scroll down for the image link.] A total of three images of the golden Galaxy Note Edge have been revealed, showcasing the handset from every angle, reports Phone Arena.
Surprisingly, the material gold is not sparingly used; instead, it is reportedly used on the side frame of the device, earpiece grill, volume rocker, camera ring and also on the heart-rate monitor located on the rear of the handset. This luxury edition handset has "au" embossed on the removable back cover, which is nothing but the chemical name of gold.
Meanwhile, some unnamed sources have claimed that, the final version of the golden Samsung Galaxy Note Edge will come with additional design changes, notes the same site. Moreover, this device is expected to be a limited-edition model and the price is believed to skyrocket as well.
As far as the key specifications go, the Galaxy Note Edge features a 5.6-inch Super AMOLED display, packed with Quad HD+ resolution. Under the hood, the phone is powered by a 2.7 GHz quad-core processor. Plus, the handset runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS with 4G LTE/4G LTE Advanced (LTE Category 6) connectivity support on board. When it comes to camera, the handset sports a 16 MP rear-facing unit, along with Smart OIS and a 3.7 MP front-facing unit with f/1.9 lens.
