Kim Kardashian Called 'Pornographic Symbol' By Orthodox Jewish News Website That Blurs Her Picture Too
For many newspapers and websites, it is a daily norm to publish pictures of American reality television star Kim Kardashian. But an Orthodox Jewish newspaper has blurred the image of the most photographed star and chose to just post the picture of her husband Kanye West and Jerusalem mayor Nir Barkat. Kim and Kanye were in Israel to get their daughter North West baptised on Monday.
Kikar HaShabbat, an Orthodox Jewish newspaper photoshopped Kim's image on their website and replaced her with the picture of a bill of the restaurant, where Barkat took them for eating, writes The Huffington Post. The website also did not write Kim's name but referred to couple as "West and his wife." The newspaper reportedly blurred out Kim's picture because she is a "pornographic symbol" which is not supported by their Orthodox religion.
The mayor of Jerusalem was also criticised for taking Kim and Kanye to a non-Kosher restaurant. The Orthodox news site accused Barkat of violating the Sabbath - the seventh day of the Hebrew calendar week that is considered holy. The website also added that the mayor showed "insensitivity to the majority of city-dwellers who keep kosher.”
It is not the first time that the ultra-Orthodox newspaper has removed any women from their newspaper. In January, the news site removed German chancellor Angela Merkel from a photo because she is a woman. Publishing pictures of women in their newspaper is considered “immodest and sexually suggestive.”
Meanwhile, Kim and her rapper husband were welcomed in Armenia and Jerusalem by their fans. The reality star went to Armenia last week with her husband, daughter and sister Khloe Kardashian. She is a descendant from the country and met her relatives and cousins there.
The Kardashian family went to see their ancestral home in Armenia, which was in a dilapidated state now. The “Yeezus” rapper also gave an impromptu concert in Armenia's capital Yerevan on Sunday night and thousands of fans gathered to see him. At the end of the concert, the rapper jumped into the Swan Lake.
