“The King Speech” wins Best Picture award at 83rd Oscars
Film producers accept the award for the best picture category at 2011 Oscars
“The King’s Speech” has ruled at this year’s 83rd Academy Award for bringing home the elusive and much coveted Best Picture category.
Accepting the award for the best picture category are the film’s producers, Emile Sherman, Iain Canning and Gareth Unwin.
“The King Speech” has gone home the biggest winner for the evening having nabbed all the major categories, most of which are predicted and have been strong favorites since the beginning of the award’s seasons this year.
It has also won the directing prize for Tom Hooper, the original screenplay for David Seidler, and its biggest win, Best Actor award for British Actor, Colin Firth.
It has bested all other films nominated in the category including, “Black Swan”, “The Fighter”, “Inception”, “The Kids Are All Right”, “The King's Speech”, “127 Hours” “The Social Network”, “Toy Story 3”, “True Grit”, “Winter's Bone”.
