'King's Fall' raid for 'Destiny: The Taken King' gets release date
Bungie has announced that the “King’s Fall” raid for “Destiny: The Taken King” will be launching on Sept. 18, three days after the release of the expansion. Prior to the announcement, Bungie had to tell players that the raid would not be available during launch date, which ruffled a few feathers with the fanbase.
Now that the official announcement has been made, fans of the game are probably happy that they won’t have to wait too long to participate in the raid. Players will be taking on a new raid boss called Oryx – who is the “Taken King” from the expansion’s title and is the father of Crota from a previous raid of the game.
A report from Forbes stated that fans would have to keep grinding till level 40 if they want to take on Oryx, as the character is set to be one of the toughest bosses in the game’s history thus far. On top of that, fans will have to go through a massive hive dreadnaught to confront him, which should be filled with tough enemies to test the player’s mettle.
With the date revealed Game Informer reports that fans will have three days with “The Taken King” to reach the new level cap and take on Oryx. The “King’s Fall” raid takes place after players had fought Oryx in the main story missions and should be a worthwhile challenge to the most hardcore “Destiny” player.
“Destiny: The Taken King” is set to be one of the bigger installments in the game, as it wraps up a number of storylines and introduces new ones for future expansions. Voice actor Nolan North will also be replacing Peter Dinklage as the voice of the Ghost companion once “The Taken King” expansion hits. The change was made due to Dinklage’s schedule in Hollywood.
The last expansion for “Destiny,” titled “House of Wolves” was raid free and received a mixed reaction from fans, although the new loot available was considered a good thing. Since “The Taken King” brings back raids and a really tough boss, it seems like this expansion will please fans of the game.
