Kristen Stewart has bashed Hollywood for practicing gender politics for the roles in the films. The 25-year-old actress, who has become the first American actress to win France’s César award, says in her latest interview that women are treated differently in Hollywood. She has also called the film industry as “disgustingly sexist.”

“Women inevitably have to work a little bit harder to be heard,” Kristen is quoted as saying to UK's Harper's Bazaar magazine. “Hollywood is disgustingly sexist. It's crazy. It's so offensive it's crazy,” added the “Twilight” actress. The actress also talked to the magazine about her opinion of achieving fame. She told the magazine that she fails to understand why people are attracted to fame. For Kristen, “fame is the worst thing in the world” if it does not have any purpose.

Kristen is not the only female actress who has voiced her opinion about the lack of good roles for females in Hollywood. In past, British actress Carey Mulligan also told The Guardian that Hollywood is “massively sexist” because there is “a lack of great stories for women” in Hollywood's films. Mulligan also got support of her “Suffragette” co-star Meryl Streep.

However, Kristen has won the Cesar award for a French film “Cloud of Sils Maria” that has a female dominated story. The film tells the story of two women played by Kristen and French actress Juliette Binoche. It received mass critical acclaim and Kristen was also appreciated for her role of Valentine, who works as an assistant to an aging actress Binoche. In her acceptance speech, the actress said that she loved working on the sets of French film and found the whole experience very different from working in a Hollywood film.

In her previous interview with Variety magazine, Kristen said that the “reasons why people make films here in France are very different from the reasons why people make movies in Hollywood.” She also added that she “prefer it here a little bit.” “Clouds of Sils Maria” was directed by French writer/director Olivier Assayas and also started Chloë Grace Moretz. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2014 and also bagged six César nominations.
