Kristen Stewart former lover, Robert Pattinson, has recently flashed his rare smile as he begins filming for his latest film with David Cronenberg, Maps to the Stars. The actor was seen leaving a movie studio in California Tuesday, July 9, as he embarked on a new project amidst the drama brought by the much-talked about Robsten split in May 2013.

Posted on Robert Pattinson Fan Page on Facebook, the actor was seen in the series of photos looking a bit glum and moody, until he flashed that rare smile.

The photos, collected by Rob’s solid fan base, showed the actor sporting his black jeans, teaming it up with a white T-shirt emblasoned with his favorite band, The Smiths. He completed his looks with dark glasses and signature baseball cap and his black pumps.

“Robert was seen out and about in Los Angeles leaving a studio during the day while sporting a backpack on Tuesday (July 9),” the page reads.

Maps to the Stars, however, is Rob’s second film with director David Cronenberg. He collaborated with Cronenberg in Cosmopolis, in independent film featuring a 28-year-old billionaire, Eric Packer, and the film zeroed in on his one-day daily grind inside his limousine.

The page added, “Rob is gearing up to begin working with legendary director David Cronenberg again on Maps to the Stars, a thriller that's described as a haunting ghost story.”

The Twilight hunk is reportedly beginning to film Maps in Toronto, this week. Joining Rob in the thriller film are John Cusack and Julianne Moore, who have reportedly been settled in up north as the film is set on location shoot for five weeks.

There still no confirmation if indeed Rob has pursued the rumoured relationship with Elvis Presley’s granddaughter, Riley Keough. Riley is Kristen’s co-star in biopic, The Runaways, and having her as Rob’s new girl brings a shocking twist for the Robsten romance.

It was, however, denied that Riley was the one riding with Robert in his red pick-up truck on Saturday, June 29. Riley’s rep came forward to deny the music icon’s granddaughter ever spending time with Rob.

"Riley isn't dating Rob," Riley’s rep was quoted as telling JustJared.com, as noted in a separate report by IBTimes-AU. "And I can confirm that Riley was not photographed at all this weekend."

This was ascertained by another rep for Riley who talked to People magazine: “That is not Riley Keough in the photo with Robert Pattinson. They are not dating."

If that is not Riley, who is the redhead woman in the car with Rob?
