Kylie Minogue is Australian of the Year in the UK, to Headline Hyde Park Festival
Kylie Minogue wasn’t in her home country on Australia Day, but she still proudly carried the country’s name outside of it. The 46-year-old pop princess was named Australian of the Year in the UK on Saturday.
Wearing a daring sheer, embellished long dress by Aussie designers J’Aton Couture, the diminutive hitmaker was all smiles at the Australia House in London as she received the prestigious honour. The annual Australia Day Gala Dinner also recognised the artistic and entrepreneurial achievements other Aussies based in the UK.
“I didn’t know I would have a MEDAL!!!!” Minogue showed off her bounty on Instagram. In another photo, she expressed her gratitude for the honour, saying, “I am so grateful!!”
Also honoured at the event are English author Howard Jacobson, who was awarded Honorary Australian of the Year in the UK, and author Evie Wyld, who was named Young Australian Achiever of the Year in the UK.
