Lady Gaga To Wed ‘Chicago Fire’ Hunk Taylor Kinney; Couple Got Engaged On Valentine’s Day
Newly engaged singer Lady Gaga announced her engagement to Hollywood hunk Taylor Kinney on her social media accounts after the actor proposed to her on Valentine’s Day. The couple first met in the 2011 set of the singer’s 2011 set of “You & I” music video and started dating several months after the video was released.
"He gave me his heart on Valentine's Day, and I said YES!" wrote the “Born This Way” singer on Instagram with a photo of her heart-shaped ring. The duo were reportedly spotted celebrating their engagement at the Manhattan restaurant of Lady Gaga's parents, Joanne Trattoria.
“I heard the singer say 'it was time' as she flashed the ring around,” said Times Herald-Record executive editor Barry Lewis who witnessed the pop star announced the engagement to her family. “Her father, Joe Germanotta, who owns the restaurant with chef and author Art Smith, popped open a bottle of champagne to toast the couple and welcome Kinney into the family.”
Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney have been dating for about four years; they split briefly in May 2012 and reconciled the following month. In a recent interview with Howard Stern, the 28-year-old Mother Monster admitted that she would marry the actor if he proposed, saying that “He is the right guy.”
In an interview with UK’s The Times, Gaga revealed that the “Chicago Fire” star cries when she sings onstage. She even told Ellen DeGeneres when she sat down with her that she and Kinney complemented each other’s weirdness.
Meanwhile, Lady Gaga is busier than ever as she announced last week that she’s been invited to perform at the Oscars. She was recently seen at the Grammy’s stage when she took home the award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for “Cheek to Cheek.” She also performed onstage with legendary singer Tony Bennet.
