Latest Motorola X-Phone Concept Guns for Bruising Dogfight with iPhone 5S, HTC One
Motorola is seriously plotting to make a smartphone mark this year, hence the looming release date of the Android-powered X-Phone, which in a new render appears primed up to battle it out with the iPhone 5S and HTC One.
Designer Jason Chen came up recently with the Google-centric X-Phone that is fully-wrapped in metal casing, according to Concept Phones, joining the ranks of acclaimed handsets that experts have praised for fusing sex appeal with solid craftsmanship.
Mr Chen's X-Phone is easily stunning without trying too hard. The built is simple but attracts attention. The front quickly reminds of HTC's latest hotcake while the back portion immediately points to an iPhone 5S picture except that the Apple logo is replaced by that of Motorola's.
In fact, the X-Phone render "resembles the iPhone 5 on the lower side," Concept Phones said on its report. This will become an automatic iPhone 5S rival as experts largely presume that the latter's look is a direct throwback of its predecessors.
Beyond the look-factor, this X-Phone screams with too much power within - likely flexing a Snapdragon 800 CPU that relies on a quad-core spinning might. The RAM provision should be generous enough, at no less than 2GB.
It has a 4.7-inch screen display that virtually occupies the phone's front face. Save for the front cam sensor at the top portion, no physical design disturbs the display panel, recipient of an edge-to-edge render by Mr Chen.
Android's familiar touch controllers are right where they are, at the bottom portion with the Home button sandwiched by the Menu and Back keys.
As expected, the Android build is the latest on release date, which is anytime within Q3 2013, latest reports suggest, with the landing to happen first in the United States then in UK and Australia.
It depends on Google what to unleash in the months ahead though more experts are betting on Jelly Bean 4.3.3 with Key Lime Pie probably to follow before 2013 marches to its end.
One thing is sure though, the X-Phone will be a crowd-pleaser with insanely great camera features, as committed by Google earlier this year. And Mr Chen obliges by giving his design a 13MP shooter that will rightfully mix with the upcoming Google cam menus.
For a sexy and brute monster, the Motorola X-Phone is a certifiable lightweight with the following dimension: 126mm x 63mm x 7.2mm.
