Latest Windows 10 Build Shows New Features And No Significant Bugs
Microsoft has just launched a new preview build of the Windows 10 with only a month left before the OS is officially launched into the public, according to CNET. Build 10158, which was released on Monday, comes with a new set of features that will make Microsoft device users happy.
For instance, some key significant changes were applied to the Edge Web browser and the Cortana voice assistant. Plus, the Start menu was also revamped, as well as some other portions of the system’s user interface. What is most promising, though, is that this latest build does not have any “significant known issues.”
This is very good news for Microsoft, particularly if the company wants to meet its July 29 release date. Since last October, the company has already launched a multitude of Windows 10 preview builds almost regularly. These builds were sent to testers who voluntarily join the program initiated by Windows Insider.
The purpose why Microsoft kept launching these preview builds was to find out what the testers’ feedback are for each particular one. Knowing what the testers have to say about the OS will give them the idea on which particular areas to fix and which ones to further develop. Sadly, though, majority of the previously launched preview builds brought a lot of bugs with them.
Now, the new preview build that was released did not feature any significant bugs, which was an answered prayer by Microsoft. The company has reportedly been counting very heavily on the Windows 10 to eradicate the stigma that the Windows 8 brought with it. That said, the company will want to make sure that the new OS is launched without any glitch at all.
Gabe Aul, the head of the program, had recently hinted through a post on Windows Blog that the latest Windows 10 preview build is bug-free.
“We have a new build for PCs releasing today to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring – Build 10158,” Aul wrote. “This build is full of improvements to stability and quality as well as some additional UI polish. It also has some great new features included for Microsoft Edge as well.”
