Leaked New Amazon Kindle Specs Can Beat the Wits Out of Nexus 7 Any Day
Amazon remained relatively silent for several weeks now. The company has been one of the first and top players to introduce the Android platform prior to the entry of the Nexus 7 in the scene. The company provided a range of cheap and high quality options despite the lack of Google's brand on the devices. Is Amazon on the move to take out Google's most successful tablet yet?
Amazon's lack of services can be seen in two perspectives: their lack of Google services is unappealing to a portion of the market and a great portion also finds this useful especially when finding cheaper Android alternatives. There is a certain kind of relief and freedom some users feel if they products not affiliated with Google.
Many consider the Amazon Kindle as the main rival to the Google Nexus 7. It is the tablet which can give the mightiest tablet a run for its money. Amazon Kindle challenges Nexus 7 in two ways: content provided and pricing.
Amazon beats the Play Store when it comes to multimedia content. The benefits of their online shopping platform also give them a certain kind of leverage. However, Nexus 7 takes home the cake in terms of performance. The latest release showed the Nexus 7 went through incredible enhancement with its specs and performance.
As mentioned one main difference between Google and Amazon is the price. The Nexus 7 has a higher price tag though still within affordable range. This now poses the question as to how Amazon will set their price tag to compete the biggest contender on the market.
As it may turn out, the retail giant does have something up its sleeves and it can give Nexus 7 a run for its money. BGR reported that some insiders have already hinted excellent specs on the next Kindle. The reports further indicated that once Amazon releases their tablet, it can be a force to be reckoned with.
For starters, analysts believe Amazon will be offering the tablet below $200. Likewise, there are high expectations that the new Kindle will run on a.5GHz dual-core Texas Instruments OMAP4 4470 processor paired with a PowerVR SGX544 GPU. No word yet on whether what kind of HD upgrade it will get or if Amazon will expand the RAM.
What many sources note as surprising is Amazon's plans on boosting their HD lineup including their tablets. The Kindle will now compete directly with Nexus 7 in terms of specs. Whereas Google stuck to Snapdragon's S4 Pro, the retail giant will be sticking to Snapdragon 800.
The new Kindle HD tablets will be available in two types: 7 inches and 8.9 inches. The larger tablet will feature a rear camera.
