Leaked images of the first ever Microsoft Lumia smartphone with the device name RM-1090 have surfaced through China's popular social networking site, Weibo. The device has been seen on the website of TENNA that is the certification body from China, states GSMArena.

In the past week, we had published that Microsoft is planning to slowly put an end to the Nokia brand name. It means that the future Lumia handsets manufactured by Nokia and sold by Microsoft will use the Microsoft Lumia brand name.

All the forthcoming Lumia smarpthones will feature the Microsoft logo. Other low-end feature phones will continue to sport Nokia brand name. The last Nokia devices to carry the Nokia brand name are the Nokia Lumia 730 and the Nokia Lumia 830 that was first announced during the IFA tech trade event in September.

The RM-1090 handset does not feature a Nokia logo, instead it has a Microsoft logo placed above the display and on the rear panel below the camera. WMPoweruser has revealed that the handset has already bagged the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology certification by government of China.

According to GSMArena, the same device had cleared the FCC certification U.S. in the previous month of October. Now that the device has cleared TENNA certification, the specifications of the device has been confirmed.

The Microsoft RM-1090 specifications show that it features a 5-inchd display screen featuring 960 x 540 pixels. Its dimensions are 140.2 x 72.4 x 9.3 mm. It supports two SIM cards and 3G connectivity. It is powered with the latest Windows Phone 8.1 OS.

The RM-1090 has a 1,900 mAh battery. The rear camera is available with LED flash. The details on the megapixels have not been disclosed yet. It also features a front-facing camera. Other details like processor specs are also not known.

According to PhoneArena, the Microsoft RM-1090 seems to be an entry-level phone like the Nokia Lumia 530. It further states that the appearance of the device easily indicates that it belongs to the Lumia family. So, Microsoft has not altered the Lumia design on the rumoured device. GSMArena states that the RM-1090 will come out with an affordable price tag to take on the Android One handsets.
