The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time gets a definite Australian release date
Good news for all Zelda fans in Australia. Nintendo has announced the release date for Ocarina of Time. Australian gamers can pick up the hotly anticipated 3DS game on June 30th. The game will set back gamers $69.95 in Australian dollars.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D is arguably one of the most anticipated games for the 3DS. Lucky gamers were invited by Nintendo to preview the game at Vinoplis in London.
Previous demo versions had featured the Kokiri Forest, a preview of the Great Deku Tree and a boss fight with Queen Gohma. Players could now preview the game for limited game play time. The colors palette works perfectly and the 3D effects don't overpower the gameplay.
Visuals are enhanced from the original 1998 version. The fairies flying around the Kokiri Forest are a sight to behold. The 3DS has fewer buttons than the N64 controller but makes up for this lack with "I and II" buttons on the touch screen as well as the X and Y buttons which can be used to assign items.
The ocarina no longer takes up valuable inventory space but has its own special button on the touch screen. The user will operate the Ocarina by using the buttons L, R, A, X and Y. Gamers who grew up knowing the old controls will have to relearn the new controls for the remake.
The most significant addition to this remake is the addition of a gyroscopic aiming. Gamers using the 3D effect will have to move their heads at the same pace as the 3DS. Those who find it hard to concentrate on such an inconsequential matter in the heat of the battle will be better served by sticking with the Circle Pad.
Gamers who loved the original will find the remake to be true to the original with enhanced graphics and improvements to the gameplay.
