Lego Releases Posters To Commemorate 'Star Wars Celebration' And Digital Release
On Friday April 10, Lego released Drew Struzan‘s posters for the first six "Star Wars" films. They were released on the same day the epic saga was released in digital HD.
The posters were created by Lego for the fans at the annual Star Wars Celebration, which will be held from April 16 to April 19 in Anaheim, CA. You can see the posters at Mtv.com. They were modeled after Drew Struzan's poster designs for the space saga. Lego have taken the imagery from the posters and replaced it all with the Lego equivalent.
Fans can buy the posters at the convention. Lego will also be releasing the posters in their online store and at Lego brand retailers.
The digital HD released last week contained extra features that was divided into two categories: "Discoveries From Inside" and "Star Wars: Conversations." The former takes fans on a trip behind the scenes and the latter talks with some of the most important people in the development on the franchise.
“We’re thrilled that fans will be able to enjoy the 'Star Wars' Saga on their digital devices wherever they go,” commented Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy. The executive also added that the bonus materials delves into the saga's rich history and includes conversations of the "masters" who brought "Star Wars" to life. The films are available on Amazon, Google Play, iTunes as well as other major digital distributors.
This years special guests at the Star Wars Celebration includes the director of the upcoming "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" J.J. Abrams and Kenny Baker who was R2-D2 in the first three movies. They will be joined by Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher who played Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia in the original trilogy.
"Star Wars" fans are also excited by the news that EA will be releasing the game play footage of "Star Wars Battlefront" at the convention. According to a report by Mstarz.com EA have already released two trailers for the highly anticipated game in 2014. (Watch the videos below.)
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will hit theaters on Dec. 18. Disney plans to release a new trilogy of "Star Wars" films between now and 2019, with spin-off movie "Rogue One" also due to debut in 2016.
