Customers who are looking for an affordable tablet can stop looking. Lenovo has begun taking pre-orders for its IdeaPad A1 for $199 for 2Gb of storage space.

The smaller version of the IdeaPad K1 will have a 7-inch display with 1024 x 600 screen resolution and a single-core 1Ghz processor. Users can get an additional 16Gb of storage space with another $50. It has offline GPS capability, Bluetooth, WiFi, stereo speakers and micro SD and micro USB ports. It will run on the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS.

At only $199, the Lenova IdeaPad A1 will be facing stiff competition from the similarly priced Amazon Kindle Fire, but the IdeaPad A1 will have hardware components that set it apart from the Kindle Fire. The IdeaPad A1 has two cameras, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera and a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera. With both tablets having practically the same features, the cameras could be the deciding factor for budget-conscious consumers who want more bang for their buck.

Lenovo is accepting pre-orders now with shipments starting Oct. 27.
