Lenovo Launches Low-Cost Notebooks With Ideapad 100, Z41 & Z51
Lenovo will reportedly reveal their plans on developing their computer technology over the next five years during the Lenovo Tech World event, which will be held in Beijing on May 28. The company will also be unveiling some new low-cost consumer notebook computers, namely the entry-level Ideapad 100, the 14-inch Z41, and a Z51 that has a much larger screen plus an option for a 3D camera, as reported by CNET.
According to the report, these upcoming low-cost notebook laptops were purposely designed to increase Lenovo’s lead in the global PC market. Unfortunately, the tech company’s lead in the competition experienced a drop from 20 percent to 19.5 percent.
The Ideapad 100 is a true entry-level notebook laptop that will come out with a price of $249. Available with a 14- and 15- screen display options, 1,366 x 768 pixel resolution, Intel Bay Trail-M N3540 processor, 128 GB SSD or 500 GB HDD, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 port, HDMI-out, and a card reader, it just might make the Chromebook make a run for its money.
The Z41 and Z51 models are a bit more upscale, yet still very much affordable at $499 each. They both sport a full HD 1080p display, Core i7 processor, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB SSHD or HDD, as well as a wide range of options for configuration. The Z41 will have the AMD R7-M360 GPU, while the Z51 will have the AMD R9-M375.
The Z51 can also be upgraded by adding an Intel RealSense 3D camera which can be used for 3D scans, gesture control, and gaming purposes. This special add-on can be availed by adding $100 to the Z51’s original price.
Anand Tech has pointed out that notebooks’ prices were pretty reasonable, considering that they have relatively discreet GPUs with a lot of potential for being used as a gaming console.
