British singer Leona Lewis became another celebrity against Miley Cyrus as well as Rihanna for making the explicit twerking popular with children. The "X Factor" winner has slammed her music rivals as bad example to the young fans and asked the parents to control the videos that their kids watch.

"Being sexual and in your face is not great for girls who are quite young. It depends what environment you're brought up in, but personally I've got a god-daughter and little nieces and I don't want them to see me acting crazy and naked in my music videos," the 28-year-old singer stated in the Mirror report.

"So it's up to the parents as well to be able to control what their children are watching. It's like, 'don't twerk, you're a six year old. Stop it'," Ms Lewis further added. The "Bleeding Love" singer claimed in the ZNews report that seeing her young nieces and god-daughter imitating Miley or Rihanna's twerking moves of wiggling the hips and thrusting the bottoms out make her really upset.

"I've met them both and that is them - they're not putting on an act and no one is telling them what to do. I have a lot of respect for them, but because I have nieces and I've seen my six-year-old goddaughter doing dance moves that she shouldn't, it does not impress me and I tell her to stop," Leona shared.

She further stated on Miley and Rihanna's twerking: "You can't blame those girls, who are being young and sometimes dumb. They're just expressing themselves how they want to. Girls are not perfect, we all make mistakes."

Leona Lewis affirmed that fans will not see her twerking since her songs does not suit the Miley Cyrus or Rihanna moves. According to the British singer, she is more accustomed to singing ballads and does not have any plans of changing her style in performing.

"I feel like my songs don't really suit twerking so it might look weird if I just started suddenly," Leona Lewis stated to ITV's Daybreak, according to the Entertainmentwise.com report. In the meantime, Ms Lewis excitedly returns with a Christmas album that mentor Simon Cowell encouraged her to do.

Leona revealed that the music mogul had a major role in her upcoming Christmas album. "He's definitely in my phonebook. I worked closely with him on this record and work closely with him on all of my records," the singer stated.
