While the gay-themed soap opera My Husband's Lover is lording it over Philippine television with a record-high 34 per cent viewership for its July 12 episode, it's the turn of the LGBT counterpart lesbians to shine on Sept 28 in the concert scene.

On that day, out and proud lesbians Charice Pempengco and Aiza Seguerra will hold their dream concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. Charice is a former Glee star which Aiza has been dubbed Acoustic Princess, although a Filipino cartoonist called her Asia's T-bird.

The concert, titled The Power of Two, is the result of the two lesbians singing a duet at a bar in Makati. Their version of David Guetta's Titanium at the Tambayan Hits concert of artist Noel Cabangon in June became a hit and YouTube with so far more than 138,000 views.

The public acceptance of their admission of being lesbians and warm reception to their duet - which was the first time the two singers met in person - paved the way for the concert.

The date of the concert coincides with the launch of Charice's new album in the Philippines.

What is ironic is that Aiza once had Tom Rodriguez, star of the bekiserye My Husband's Lover, as her love interest in another ABS-CBN soap opera Be Careful with My Heart.
