Lewis Hamilton Attends IWC Schaffhausen Gala In Geneva
Two-time Formula One, or F1, world champion Lewis Hamilton mingled with other international personalities and celebrities at the 2015 IWC Schaffhausen gala held at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie in Geneva, Switzerland on Jan. 20, 2015. The event marked the 75th anniversary celebration of the legendary Swiss luxury watch manufacturer.
Hamilton shared pictures from the event on his Instagram account. “Had a great time last night,” Hamilton captioned one photo.”Thank you @iwcwatches for everything, #IWCSIHH.”
In another photo, the 30-year-old Brit posted a photo showing off his IWC rose gold watch. Hamilton also shared his selfies with Aloe Blacc and Christoph Waltz, who were both present at the event.
Other famous personalities who graced the anniversary gala include Nico Rosberg, Luis Figo, actress Emily Blunt and Victoria’s Secret models Adriana Lima and Karolina Kurkova. In addition, musicians Ronan Keating and Simply Red’s Mick Hucknall were also spotted in Geneva.
The guests were treated to an amazing night of dazzling performances. New York-based Swiss multimedia magician Marco Tempest reportedly delivered a well-crafted performance combining magic and cutting-edge technology. Beijing’s Red Poppy Ladies Percussion, who gained popularity because of their mesmerizing piece during the opening ceremony of 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, was also invited to perform at the event. Simply Red’s frontman Hucknall also entertained the audience by singing a number of songs. Pictures from the anniversary celebration are shared on IWC’s official Web site.
In 2013, IWC became the Official Engineering Partner to the Mercedes AMG Petronas. In May, it was announced that Mercedes teammates Hamilton and Rosberg will become the Swiss manufacturer’s brand ambassadors. Hamilton, who has a passion for wristwatches, was previously quoted saying that IWC watches have a lot in common with F1 drivers because they are unique and the best in the world.
“Lewis and Nico are two amazing personalities who work every day at getting that little bit more performance out of themselves and their cars,” IWC Chief Executive Georges Kern said in a press release. “In their own inimitable way, the two of them represent all that is best about IWC Schaffhausen."
