Lex Luthor Jr.'s ‘Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice’ viral site goes online
Warner Bros. has geared up for the upcoming release of “Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice” by launching a viral marketing site, LexCorp.io, which teases a big event this coming winter.
The contents of the website is limited as of now, though it features a sinister mission statement: “LexCorp is building a better tomorrow, today. LexCorp provides expertise and research to the global marketplace and cross-industry innovations that transform and inspire. We build products that help millions of homes, businesses and governments work better.”
The site also features a link to Lex Luthor Jr.’s twitter account with a picture of Jesse Eisenberg in character.
The viral site is a follow-up to the marketing campaign that started at the New York Comic-Con, where a sponsored free Wi-Fi announcement video from LexCorp was announced.
LexCorp is a fictional company that appears in DC comic books. The company is owned by Superman’s arch-nemesis, Lex Luthor. In the film, Eisenberg will play Lex Luthor’s son, Lex Luthor Jr. Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman, while Ben Affleck is set to make his debut as Batman.
“Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice” picks up where “Man of Steel” left off. The world is split into two factions. One side believes that Superman is humankind’s protector, while the other half believes that everyone should look out for themselves.
The plot is not the most original as far as comic-based superhero film goes, but the thought of two leading DC characters sharing the screen has already sent fans into frenzy.
“Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice” opens on March 25, 2016.
